SLIVER technology's uniquely flexible and bifacial cells provide numerous benefits over existing solar module technology.

Monocrystalline Reliability and Performance
Monocrystalline silicon has become the industry standard for high-efficiency photovoltaic solar modules, including Transform Solar’s SLIVER modules, because it’s proven to be a reliable, high-performance material. SLIVER technology takes performance beyond that of conventional crystalline-based solar solutions using our innovative manufacturing process and expertise to create a distinctly different module. The elegance of SLIVER technology is in the details—our highly efficient, ultra-thin, elongated monocrystalline cells are lightweight, purely bifacial, and very flexible. These properties impart unique performance advantages that enable the potential of emerging applications.

More Revenue per Roof
While SLIVER cells benefit from the fundamental quality and performance of monocrystalline silicon, our differentiation comes from several other factors:

Greater Electrical Yield
Low operating temperature and low temperature coefficients help SLIVER modules maximize output in peak solar conditions through the most important part of the day.

Partial Shade Performance
Unlike other crystalline modules, SLIVER modules have a near-linear shading response. Seventy parallel connections minimize module loss due to partial shading, allowing modules to be placed closer together and closer to common shade-causing obstructions found on most installations—situations in which a conventional module would not be economically beneficial.

Design Flexibility
High-yield SLIVER modules are engineered to maximize performance. Our high-voltage SLIVER module combines all the features of SLIVER technology while delivering the many benefits of an all-parallel system design.

High Reliability
Beyond our IEC certifications to date, Transform Solar has tested SLIVER modules far in excess of international reliability standards for a number of years. The unique features that create high reliability for our SLIVER modules include:
  • Built-in reverse bias protection dissipates any reverse current flow across the cells, making them fundamentally more tolerant to adverse electrical events.
  • Each cell has triple redundancy with multiple points of interconnection, delivering built-in protection for the module.
  • Incredibly low interconnect current leads to less stress and lower likelihood of failure.
  • Parallel banks of cells provide greater tolerance to partial shading, which reduces unwanted power dissipation in shaded cells.
